Odd reasons why truck accidents occur

According to federal estimates, around 475,000 large trucks are in accidents around the country each year, many of which take place in Florida. These accidents result in more than 5,000 fatalities and around 140,000 injuries. Roughly 70 percent of all crashes involving a large truck are caused by automobile drivers. This is despite the fact that truckers are often blamed for driving too fast or otherwise being careless behind the wheel.

In 2015, 29 percent of all people who died in a passenger vehicle that collided with a large truck died in head-on accidents. An additional 29 percent were killed in accidents involving a rear collision with a larger truck. This may indicate that drivers of cars are not adept at passing commercial vehicles or are traveling too closely to them prior to an accident.

Data suggests that Thursday and Friday are two days in which truck drivers are likely to make errors. This is because they tend to be both physically and mentally more exhausted than at the beginning of the week. Furthermore, it is more likely that a large truck will be involved in an accident between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. This is when roadways have more vehicles of all types on them, and researchers suggest that human error may be to blame.

One major factor in big rig accidents is truck driver fatigue. This often results from drivers being under pressure to stay on schedule instead of pulling over for some rest. An occupant of another vehicle who is injured in such an accident may want to meet with an attorney to see what evidence can be used to demonstrate negligence on the part of the driver or the trucking company itself.
