I am not sure how this area can better serve our visitors and locals when we have such high traffic volumes. We are in the middle of summer and the roads are packed. The past several weeks were very busy for the area and the amount of car crashes showed how busy the area was.
MID-BAY BRIDGE CRASH
The Florida Highway Patrol was called out to three serious crashes over the weekend. One person was killed and another seriously injured after a Ford Explorer overturned on the Mid-Bay Bridge on-ramp from Lakeshore Drive in Bluewater Bay. Reports state no one was wearing seat belts, and alcohol could have been a factor.

If you see traffic slowing ahead … then start slowing down so you don’t have to do an abrupt slowdown which can cause an accident. Be aware of your surroundings so you can navigate abrupt turns or traffic changes. Beyond alertness, drivers can also leave earlier or later to avoid the busiest travel times, carpool or use public transport.
