Two major automobile manufacturers issued a recall on more than1.5 million vehicles late last week.
Ford recalled more than 750,000 Escapes and C-Max vehicles in North America. Ford indicated that these vehicles were being recalled for two separate issues: (1) an issue with the software that affects the way in which the air bag is deployed in Escapes and C-Max Crossovers in the event of a roll over accident and (2) a malfunctioning exterior door handle and latching system in Escapes.
Ford has reported that software issues is affecting nearly 692,500 Ford Escapes for the model years of 2013 and 2014 and approximately 60,000 C-Max Crossovers for the same model years. Escapes are being recalled for the exterior door malfunction for model years 2013 and 2014.
Chrysler also issued a recall on 780,477 minivans due to power window switches for third-row power windows can overheat. The problem can happen if the window switch, located on the driver’s door, is exposed to moisture.
Ford and Chrysler reported that they are unaware of any injuries that have occurred due to malfunctions related to the recall. So, DON”T be the first. go and have your vehicle inspected and the recall work performed IMMEDIATELY.
