Increase in Car Accidents in NWFL

It has been a busy week here in Destin and across Northwest Florida. Unfortunately, the level of activity has seen an increase in car accidents on our busy roads which have led to serious injuries and fatalities.

The Northwest Florida Daily News reports there was a deadly accident on the south end of the Cinco Bayou Bridge Friday morning which stopped traffic for hours. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.

On Wednesday, the Panama City News Herald reported a horrible accident that occurred on U.S. 231 shortly before 8:30 p.m. A Panama City woman and her children were walking south in the grass on the west shoulder of U.S. 231, when a 1993 Chevy 1500 veered off the road and struck the lady and her children. Her 2006 Hyundai struck a northbound Dodge truck driven by an Alabama man. He and his passenger, Stephanie Perkins, had only minor injuries.
